I've heard that early a.m., like 2:00 - 2:2:30 am is the optimal time to enter instant wins for a winning screen?  True or False?

I think because less people are sweeping at this time, you could possibly have better odds of winning instants. I have had many wins at all times of the day! Good question and the very best of luck to you and all!

Will have to find someone else to give an opinion on this.  I tried to stay up that late and figured out I am NOT a late night person.

Folks have been saying that for years. I don't know.

I have won all different times of day any day of the week.

Have seen a few in the past where they give away a whole lot of prizes one after the other. The times I've seen that was during business hours.

I've been lucky to win at those odd early hours like 3am and 4am.  If I'm having one of those sleepless nights I always try the IW and found to be luckier at those times.

Maybe. Might depend on your time zone. 2 AM ET is actually 11 PM PT. I use to try to enter at that time, but did not notice any big change in winning.

If I lived in Pacific Time Zone, I would enter at 5 a.m. If possible. I'm on Central Time, and my magic hour is 3 a.m.

We moved to the Pacific time zone last summer and I started sweeping again at the beginning of the year.  I had tremendous success winning in the Snickers instant win (something like 17 of them) and I (I mean "my kids") won the Hasbro toy IW twice.  Generally, I'm doing my instants between 9 and 11 pm PST.

I'm not sure I have better luck on the sweeps that give away a prize per day, but for the ones that give away 1 or more per hour, I definitely do feel like they are more available in the overnight hours.

SInce the winning times are randomly assigned by the computer, there's no way of increasing your odds of winning by trying to time the system.

I won 16 candy bars and the were mostly from 1pm to 11 pm.

I just organize my sweeps by epiration date and enter them when they come up in the que.

I'm not going to make myself crazy to try and win a pizza, ya know?

I disagree.  If a sweeps is giving away one prize per hour (like the Hasbro sweeps), there are almost certainly less people entering in the 3am EST hour than at the 9am EST hour.  Therefore, your chances of being the one who plays next after the appointed time go up.  It's still luck to get there at the right time, but if 15 people play that whole hour vs. 15 people per minute (just making numbers up), can you see where I'm heading with that?

But no, I'm not getting up in the middle of the night or staying up late to try to win a toy or a bag of chips.  It just happens to fit best into my day then.

EDIT - Oops: Looke like Abazeley and I agree... and submitted our similar theories at the same time. Ha, just further illustrating the point.  The more activity, the tougher it is to win.  Here's what I wrote at the same time:

While you may not be able to "time" the system... there is a slight statistical advantage to playing in the off hours.  In order to win, you need to be the first person to submit an entry at or immediately after the winning time generated by the computer.

If the winning time is in the wee hours, you are more likely to be the first person to enter since there are, theoretically, far fewer people entering.

For instance if the winning time is 4:03pm and there are 100 people entering at about that time, you can be sure the winner will be selected at 4:03pm or within seconds thereafter.  Conversely, if the winning time is 4:03am, there may be a lot less people actively entering.  So your window to be the first person to enter at or after the winning time will be larger.  You might be able to enter, say as late as 4:10am, and still be the first person to submit after the winning time.. and thus win.

The significance is tiny, and probably not worth losing sleep over, (literally).  But your odds just might be a little better in the overnight hours (if that's when the winning time has been selected for that day's IW sweeps).

One definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results... Welcome to Sweeping!

Nothing much works for me anymore. Tried the early, early mornings, and then 4 to 6 a.m. on weekends which at one time was the best time but nothing much works now. I personally don't think these IW contests give away near what they say they do (anymore). And if you read closely they don't give away that much anyway. One prize a day or week on an IW - give me a break!!! please. Has anyone won something from Clorox? Talk about stingy and it's only bleach.

I have excellent and super fast internet service but what really "hacks my lettuce" is after you enter your info the site hangs up and won't let you play for a minute or so and you never know if you won or not but if you try again it works perfectly and tells you, you have already played today. I can't believe that a site would block you for the winning minute after they know whom you are but I sure get that feeling from some sites. Just me I suppose.

Right, and I think it applies with much greater force to those sweeps that choose hourly prizes, or have a ton of prizes overall.  (Still waiting on the flood of Snickers.)

Ha ha!  Okay, just to prove a point (and I use the term "prove" here lightly), after our talk here about entering at odd hours, I gave it a shot.  It's 3:30am where I am now... and I just entered all the IWs in my Lucky List...

Voila!  An instant win from Subway...  A bag of chips (actually 2 bags since they are doublling prizes). I've played this one 29 times, during "normal" hours, with no luck.  Now I play at 3:30am and win!  Coincidence? I think not!

I've been sick for the past few days so my sleeping schedule is way off-- perfect time to see if sweeping early helps. I have won three IW prizes every night! (1 am) Woohooo!
