I just received an email from Info@OReillyPromotions.com saying that I won a $200 gift card.  They are wanting me to send a completed W-9.  Is this normal?  Also for some reason my Comcast email server is saying that this email address does not appear to be legitimate.  Has anyone else encounter these situations?

Kind of unusual, but if I'd won this card, I would fill out the form for them to get the $200 gift card... Evie

Glenda3 - As far as the W-9 goes, though it is unusual for them to ask to fill out a W-9 for a relatively small amount as that, it does happen.  Last year two of wins I had, one for 100.00 and the other for about 250.00, required me to fill out a W-9.  Good Luck and Congrats!!

yes it is unusual, but not unheard of, sorry that they are giving you an extra step

Oh wait! a couple of months ago I won a $15.00 promotional baseball cap and they wanted me to fill out forms too!

I never responded back

I had to fill out a form (not a W9) with my SS# etc. for a 100.00 face cream last year from Rodale. I followed thru and got it, afterwards I emailed them and asked why they needed my SS# for such a small prize, and that I didn't like the fact that a notarized affidavit with personal info would be floating around their office, they never answered me.
