New one will be here in a few days and I am asking for advice on how to best transfer all my stuff from old to new.  Thanks; I know I can count on you guys!

i've used a piece of hardware/software called - i think - Tornado.  believe i bought if from geeks.com.  a nifty item that will transfer through usb ports.

another way for large files is to use an external hard drive.

I've used both.

there may be more experts that may have better ideas.  good luck !

What a Great Day!

No matter whether how you transfer, whether by a software program or a instore service department, the big difference might be what you are transerring from and the new operating system.  If you are going to Windows 8 and never used it, this is quiet an experience learning the new OS.  I even had to have some professional help going to 8.

Thanks, guys.  I was very leery of going to Windows 8 and luckily I could get a new PC with Windows 7!  Hope all will go smoothly when new one gets here.  My old one shuts down unexpectedly or the mouse stops working.
