Need help:  was using google chrome to enter sweeps.  It is gone.  How do I get it back?  Explain thoroughly and walk me thru it step by step.  I am not the world's best computer user.

First, Is there a Google Chrome icon on your desk top that you can double click? If so, double click it and see what happens. If that isn't possible, then,

Click Start in the lower left of this page. Click on "all programs"  Scroll down and see if you can find Google Chrome listed.  If so, double click on it an see what happens.Good Luck.

If you can't find it that way Why are you using Chrome anyway? I've always liked Firefox.

Hope that helps otherwise you might have to wait till some of our east coast computer experts wake up and answer your request

Walt:

Thanks that solved problem.

Now, for your suggestion:  Firefox.  Is that quicker and better?

Marli -- I recently switched from using Google to Foxfire and love it!  I find it to be much faster, cutting a significant amount of time off of entering.  I've never been comfortable w/Chrome so this is probably a biased opinion.  Regardless, best of luck!  diane

Also, there's the privacy issue.

Firefox doesn't track your internet usage like Google does.

This will seem like an oxymoron, but Google - -> google privacy issues

Some of the articles are real eye openers.

There are alternatives to using Google search also.  Try these two, neither of which tracks you and your searches are totally private.  duckduckgo.com and ixquick.com.

I don't know if you're familiar with Kim Komando - she's a computer guru, with a nationwide radio show.  She has recommended both of these sites, that's how I found them.

She occasionally runs sweeps.  If you enter one, you'll get put on her email news letter list, or you can join her site (for a fee) to get her emails. There's also a way to sign up for her news letters (for free) on her website - -> www.komando.com

Generally speaking I find most of her news letters informative and worth receiving.

Google - -> pick your treat sweepstakes  - - - that's a current sweep she's running. Enter it & she'll start sending you her news letters.
