Yep, after several years of sweeping this will be my last year of sweeping

I have had several good wins. But what I'm finding is that there are more entries now than ever before.

The sweepstaking websites on facebook are mainly to blame along with social media sharing.

I wish I had won at least a car, before throwing in the towel.

We are going to miss your input. I noticed the following:

(Was thanked: 164 time(s) in 142 post(s))

That means that you are much appreciated and will be missed. Maybe after a little rest period

you will find sweeping to be fun again. As indicated above, 164 times in 142 posts, many ST

members have sent you a great big thanks. Check in with a great big HI from time to time

Sometimes just taking a break for a little bit helps to rejuvenate a person, and you never know, all the entries you have in already may send a big win your way. As Walt said, your input here is greatly appreciated as evidenced by the people that have thanked you, and even if you do stop entering for a little bit, check in the forums from time to time even if to just say Hi!

I've noticed that I'm actually winning more now than I did years ago....I think that has more to do with the consistancy with which I'm entering than anything else. I still haven't won anything huge yet (greatest win is around $2500), but my smaller wins keep me going. I average about 2 big wins (over $1,000) per year.

I know it's easy to get discouraged when wins aren't coming, and in the past I've just taken small breaks and come back at it. Hopefully you'll get a big win that will make it all worth while!!!!!!

I hope you just need a break for a while- I think I'll need one soon too but don't forget to keep checking your emails in case the big win is around the corner. I took about 15 -18 months off in 2006-2007 due to spine disease and when I signed back up on this site there was only 1 name on here that I recognized from before. Hope were all still here to welcome you back. Rest up and come back soon.

Blushing

I know the feeling to well, to not win nothing for 9 to 10 months at a time. Due to that social media.

Thanks everyone for the kind words of support.

I'll continue sweeping through 12/31/2014 (I may end a bit sooner, who knows)

Easy to get discouraged.  I know I have been there.  Step away for a week or so.  Remember you do have sweeps in the pipeline and one of those may win at anytime.

Don't stop, you can't win if you don't enter.

Felt the same way after going for 7 months without so much as a cents off coupon entering 200-300 sweeps every day.  It was a hobby that I invested a lot of time in and expected some minimal return at least.    I am happy for everyone who wins, but at the same time it was hard seeing someone who's been sweeping for a few weeks/months win major prizes when I couldn't get a coupon.  As the song goes, "if it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all".  So I stopped sweeping.   During the time I wasn't sweeping I did receive a bottle of perfume valued at $125 in the mail; don't know from who or what sweep.   Then I started to run out of kleenx and my daughter-in-law perfume, items that I'd won a lot of and stockpiled.  The thought of going to the stores and buying kleenx when I could sweep and probably win again, sent me back to autofill and my Lucky List.  This go round is much different.  I'm down to 120-200 entries a day; I've foregone the trips and cars.  I actually prefer the smaller gifts and only enter for things that I know we will use.  I enter most of the one timers.  If a sweep requires too much of me, I enter once and that's it, it has to be a quick, easy entry.  I don't like FB either, but do enter a few nonetheless.  I find trying to keep separate accounts (one for sweeping, one person) too difficult/time consuming, so am really selective on which I'll enter.

For me, taking a break and reconfiguring what/how I entered, put me back on the sweeeping track.  In the month I've been back I haven't won anything yet.  Will give it another 6 months and decide what to do then :)

So whatever you decide to do, good luck.

Oh no, don't quit, I just got the $1000 Visa Card I won from MajorYou Charter Communications daily sweepstakes.  I had not won anything significant since last year when I won a $1000 check from Red Baron Pizza.  Just when you think it won't happen you get a nice surprize.  Pace yourself, only put things on your lucky list that you want to win.  I use a 5 category rating system (1-5) and only enter the important ones everyday, my instants, 5s and 4s.  If I have time or the inclination I enter the others.  I have won lots of instants including toilet paper today (something we all can use).  Good luck, hope to see you around posting a win.

I too was just about to quit (Tomorrow being my last day), but I got an email from Hello World informing me that I won the 3rd Place Prize worth $220! My wife and kids are gonna flip when they get home and I tell them, because we LOVE baking (and eating of course)Toll House cookies together. This happened before where I was just about to give up and I won something (not big though), but just enough to keep me going. I kinda vented on another post about a week ago, and low and behold I won! So in conclusion, those of you who are about to quit, maybe venting a little (and doing the Hooba Dooba Walla Stomp as well) will get you your prize that will keep you from actually going through with it. I now know that I am DETERMINED to keep on sweepin' and hope all you nice ST folks are too!

Thanks to Mr. Sweepy and staff for this AWESOME site and Toll House for the prize and the Family Memories too!!!

Time for me to do the stomp.  It has been a while since even a small win.  Ready?  Stomping, stomping, stomping.  Oops, almost stepped on one of my yorkies.

Quick yorkie:  managed to get out of my way. LOL

Magic stomp did the trick and won free meals via the radio.  Just back from enjoying a wonderful meal with my daughter.  Only cost:  tip.  Works for me.

Hi Arcadia, In my many years of sweeping, I have had the hot streaks as well cold streaks.  This is just part of the hobby.  It has been a couple of years seen I had a four figure win.  Truth being, I have not entered much over the last two year and no big wins. If I had entered more, I would have likely had another big win or two.

The point being, sweeping is still a hobby.  Any hobby can have its ups and downs, disappointments as well as successes. Hang in there and good things can happen.
